Our garments are born from natural fibres including OEKO‑TEX® certified French Flax linen and GOTS-certified organic cotton, materials that breathe with you, wear gently, and return to the earth with grace.
Each one is made onshore in Perth and finished by hand in our home studio, infused with our creative signature.
Small Batch, Big Purpose
We believe clothes should not only feel good, but also do good. That’s why we work in small batches, prioritising ethical production, fair wages, and enduring quality over fleeting trends.

As with all good things, when their journey ends, our pieces are designed to biodegrade naturally, leaving no trace. This is how we honour the full life cycle of clothing, respecting the energy, resources, and craftsmanship behind each creation.

We’re John and Jana, husband and wife, co-founders of Afar, and the hands behind every piece we create.
Afar was born here on Wardandi Boodja (Dunsborough, Western Australia), shaped by our shared belief that fashion should honour the people who make it, the places it touches, and the planet we all share.
What began as a quiet desire to live and create more consciously has become our life’s work, a slow, considered approach to design that reflects the way we choose to live.
For us, Afar is more than a label. It’s an expression of our values, our love of craft, and our deep connection to nature and community.
